After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Soil Science from Virginia Tech, his first job out of college was with Fauquier County as a Soil Technician. Just one year later, he was promoted to Assistant County Soil Scientist. Over the next few years, David focused on soil surveys, soil maps for development and agriculture, and became an expert consultant for the local health department when it came to matters of alternative sewage disposal needs. Although David left the county for a few years in the early 2000s to pursue a private soil consulting job, he later returned to take on the role of the County Soil Scientist. Through his work for Fauquier County, and as a part-time consultant during his free time, David continued to search for ways to improve the lives of others with his wealth of knowledge.
